This past summer, my brother had triple by-pass surgery
which made me want to checked out the shoulder and chest
tension I had been experiencing, which I thought was due
to excessive computer use. I checked into a
Echocardiogram ($1,800) and a nuclear stress test
($2,700 - $3,000) and with a high deductible, I knew I
was going to be paying out of pocket for any diagnostics
I was going to have. A doctor I went to for a
physician referral for a stress test mentioned ViaScan.
When I came to Las Colinas and I first walked in,
I said I wanted a virtual angiogram ($1,000) Dr.
Duncan was so compassionate and instead of selling me a
higher price service, he recommended I needed to start
with the body scan ($695) which would give me an overall
view of the status of my arteries but also checked all
my organs for cancer or aneurysms, etc. If the
body scan showed any plaque in my heart, then I would
need a virtual angiogram. My sister
and I visited ViaScan and found that we both had a zero
calcium score. It was such a relief to know that I
did not have calcium in my arteries and now I have a
base line on my internal organs. It's the best $695 I
ever spent for peace of mind. Later that week we
brought in our other brother who had been experiencing
chest tension. His doctor wanted him to start with
a nuclear stress test. but I convinced him to have a
scan first On his body scan, it revealed there was
plaque in his heart. Immediately, Dr. Duncan did a
virtual angiogram that showed that he had some blockage
in his heart. He later went and had a nuclear
stress test that he passed with flying colors. If
he had not had the scan, he would not have known he had
a build up issue until he too needed bypass or stents.
The scan really got his attention to start changing his
diet and lifestyle in an attempt to reverse the buildup
trend. Thanks to the ViaScan team and Dr.
Duncan for their wonderful and compassionate service to
preventative health. SH - Texas
